Genre

  • The genre of the magazine is pop music.
  • The target audience is from late teens onwards as some of the artists are madonna and she is an older generation singer.
  • The main image is of madonna in the centre of the cover. This relates to the music genre as her music fits in with alot of up to date pop music.
  • The image is a medum close up and had been more aligned to the left of the page.
  • Madonna's clothes are dark colours which relate to the black background to make her face stand out on the front. This may suggest a dark side to her.
  • The colours used are black, red and white. This complements the colour of Madonna's clothing and so her face os focused on by the audience.
  • The image relates to the target audience as alot of people may look to her as theyre idol or role model and her pose is non threatning towards the audience so she seems welcoming.
  • The magazine is called Q. This is simple and short so it is easily remembered by the audience.
  • There are all capitals which are used which make the text stand out and seem important.
  • What effect does it have – what is included what is left out? · Look at the mise en scene – clothes, make up, props etc. What effect do they have? What cues do they bring to mind (cultural codes)
